Everson Orthopedic Physical Therapy Services and Joint Venture Rehabilitation:  Back Pain

Why do we have two companies?
This can be a source of confusion, but the answer is really very simple. Everson Orthopedic was founded to provide the highest level of physical therapy care we can provide without the substantial limitations imposed by managed care plans. There are many circumstances where a patient needs or wants a level of care that cannot be provided within the restrictions of most managed care plans. Under Everson Orthopedic, patients with out-of-network benefits may still have good to excellent coverage but they are able to have more time with their physical therapist at each visit.  It does not take a genius to figure out that we can do far more work for a patient in a 55 minute session versus a 25 minute session. Some patients are simply not going to improve without an adequate quantity of high quality physical therapy treatment. Other patients might meet their goals, but it may take substantially longer and require short but frequent visits to the office. When people consider what their time is worth, they may find they are better off with Everson Orthopedic. We routinely check patients' out-of-network benefits. Some people have excellent benefits; others have no benefits. Those without such benefits may still choose to be a private patient. Please feel free to call for details. Regular Medicare patients (not managed care Medicare) are seen under Everson Orthopedic.

Joint Venture Rehabilitation was created in recognition of the fact that the majority of patients understandably wish to use their managed care in-network benefits when receiving any healthcare, including physical therapy. It is our goal to help any patient within a managed care plan to achieve their desired results while working within the substantial restrictions of these plans. The majority of patients will have straight-forward problems which certainly require our help but are readily handled in relatively short, managed care appropriate physical therapy sessions.

The choice between two levels of service is yet another area where we are different than other physical therapy practices. Ultimately the choice is up to the patient. No matter what decision the patient makes, it is one of our goals to make sure they are making an informed choice. If managed care physical therapy is getting great results, take advantage of it! It’s a great deal! When managed care cannot get the job done, consider your options: does your doctor need to do further testing or medical treatment? Possibly! Should you see if a different managed care physical therapy service can do the same or better? Possibly! Should you consider that you need a greater quantity of time with comprehensive, quality care with an exceptionally well-trained physical therapist? YES, you should definitely consider this!
